of where all voice repeaters are located in the Netherlands. This map is build
with google MAPS. Just try it out on this page.

As the node PI1NYM/PI8NYM has been down for quite a long time the idea has come up to start again with a new to build node in the JO21UT area. What software is not sure yet but to keep the cost within boundaries a baycom based BBS or FBB system running on Linux. Node software Linux based preferably flexnet based when linked to KLE is possible. More about the packet network in the Netherlands can be found at the Packet Radio Work Group Netherlands. Here also maps and existing nodes can be located.
This new node PI1NYM would include preferably the following options:As you all can imagine this all is a plan that will cost quite some money and is time consuming. To cover this I am asking hams to sponsor and/or help as setting up and maintaining this will cost time and money. The more people help out the better and quicker the node will be on air.
What we need at least to operate will be :
This project is under management at PA3FUA to contact him click here. All administration will be arranged centrally and input can be placed on this website at due time. The following modes are available :
I hope this initiative will be supported to ensure connectivity in the region again. If the plans are not going to be moved ahead the equipment will be returned to the rightfull owners unless stated otherwise by the owners.
Today we had a meeting to see what we can do to have a good position in Nijmegen. During the meeting we discussed previous years and introduced the people to APRS and Packet Radio. We agreed initialy that I can use the location but there needs to be some negotiations about the pricing done first. If all goes well we might be able to sign a lease contract soon. Also looked at the antenna to be used at PE1NIB location as building up the site in Nijmegen will take place at around August.
Today requested all papers to get a BT for setting up the APRS digi. This will be a bit as it seems its a bit of paper work and approvals from our official instances. Information about this can be located at RDR
A request came via PE1RDW to ask to have the APRS digi on air 24 by 7 but as the APRS digi is still at home I unfortunatly can not do that yet as I need to be able to perform other things also. I need to see that we get the antenna at the new location on the right hight (ca 25 Meter in the field). Hopefully this will be soon. When that's done it will be available. At a later stage I hope to get even a higher location. (see 8 June)
An appointment has been made on the 25 of June to discuss the new antenna and equipment location. Unfortunately the old location 'Wis en Natuurkunde' can not be used anymore due to construction and space shortage. Another location is optional with a good height of ca 80 Meters. So keep our fingers crossed.
Contacted the PWGN and the idea to set up a node in the Nijmegen area will be discussed by them on July 1. Hopefully there will be some additional support. Lets see what will come out.
The first step is almost there and this will be an APRS digi to support the area. The T813 is ready and the TNC with UIdigi is operational. The last thing is to get an antenna at PE1NIB who is willing to provide a temporary location as he owns a good antenna location at around 25 meters with a free view all around. I hope this will be life soon. At the same time we are looking for a new location of all equipment and a target has been found but negotiations will need to take place to finalize it.
